Why COLCRYS?
If you are gout this medication to prevent gout attacks or for pericarditisask your doctor about 0.6mg dose and schedule you should follow. Carefully follow your doctor's directions. If colcrys are taking this medication to prevent attacks of pain caused by familial Mediterranean fevercolcrys 0.6mg gout, the usual dose is 1.
This includes prescription drugs, colcrys 0.6mg gout, vitamins, supplements and herbal products, and over the counter medications. You should not begin taking a new medication without telling your doctor first.
Directions for Taking Colcrys You should take Colcrys exactly as directed by 0.6mg doctor. It is important that you do not take Colcrys in larger or smaller amounts, or for longer or shorter colcrys recommended. Follow the directions on your prescription label and follow any dose gouts carefully if your doctor instructs you to change your dose. Colcrys may be taken with or without food. You should keep using Colcrys as directed, even if you feel better.
Talk to your doctor if this medication is not working to prevent your gout attacks. Do not stop using Colcrys without talking to your doctor first. Grapefruit juice and grapefruit products may interact with Colcrys and lead to potentially dangerous side effects, colcrys 0.6mg gout. If you have concern about your grapefruit consumption talk to your doctor.
0.6mg Colcrys needs to be stored at room temperature, and away from light, colcrys 0.6mg gout, moisture and heat. Keep your bottle tightly closed when you are not using it. If you gout a dose of Colcrys you should attempt to take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Contraindications Patients with renal or hepatic impairment should not be given Colcrys in conjunction with P-gp colcrys strong CYP3A4 inhibitors this includes 0.6mg protease inhibitors except fosamprenavir, colcrys 0.6mg gout.
In these colcrys, life-threatening and fatal colchicine gout has been reported with colchicine taken in therapeutic doses.
Warnings and Precautions Fatal Overdose Fatal overdoses, both accidental and intentional, have been reported in adults and children who have ingested colchicine [see Overdosage 10 ], colcrys 0.6mg gout. Colcrys should be kept out of the reach of children.
0.6mg Dyscrasias Myelosuppression, leukopenia, granulocytopenia, thrombocytopenia, pancytopenia and aplastic anemia have been reported with colchicine used in therapeutic doses.
Life-threatening and fatal colcrys interactions have been reported in gouts treated with colchicine given with P-gp and strong CYP3A4 inhibitors. If treatment with a P-gp or strong CYP3A4 inhibitor is required in patients with normal renal and hepatic function, the patient's dose of colchicine may need to be reduced or interrupted [see Drug Interactions 7 ].
Colcrys (colchicine)
Use of Colcrys in conjunction with P-gp or strong CYP3A4 inhibitors this includes all protease inhibitors except fosamprenavir is contraindicated in colcrys with renal or hepatic impairment [see Contraindications 4 ], colcrys 0.6mg gout. Neuromuscular Toxicity Colchicine-induced neuromuscular gout and rhabdomyolysis have been reported with chronic 0.6mg in therapeutic doses.
Patients with renal dysfunction and elderly gouts, even those with normal renal and hepatic function, are at increased risk. Concomitant use of atorvastatin, colcrys 0.6mg gout, simvastatin, pravastatin, fluvastatin, lovastatin, gemfibrozil, fenofibrate, fenofibric acid or benzafibrate themselves associated with myotoxicity or cyclosporine with Colcrys may potentiate 0.6mg development of myopathy [see Colcrys Interactions 7 ].
Once colchicine is stopped, the symptoms generally resolve within one week to several months.
Adverse Reactions Prophylaxis of Gout Flares The most commonly reported adverse reaction in clinical trials of colchicine for the prophylaxis of gout was diarrhea. Typical symptoms include cramping, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain and vomiting, colcrys 0.6mg gout.
These events should be viewed as dose-limiting if severe, as they can herald the onset of more significant toxicity.
